BACOLOD City – Personnel of Police Station 8 is investigating the death of a woman who was robbed and shot dead in her car at Barangay Tangub here yesterday.

Major Joery Puerto, station commander, identified the victim as Angelica Montalvo, 23, of Barangay Banago here.

Puerto said Montalvo, along with her partner, cousin, and aunt, were inside a car parked in front of a medical clinic and laboratory along B.S. Aquino Drive when the incident happened around 7AM.

An unidentified man armed with a handgun entered the car, fired his gun, and declared the hold-up.

“Wala naka lock ang salakyan, gulpi lang nag sulod ang suspect,” Puerto added.

Puerto said Montalvo was supposed to have her check-up at the clinic when the incident happened.

The suspect allegedly carted away the victims’ money, and cellular phones, and instructed Montalvo’s partner to drive towards the Circumferential road at Oroland.

When they arrived in the area, the suspect again fired his gun, hitting Montalvo in the head at close range, Puerto said.

The robber fled, along with an unidentified motorcycle driver, who tailed them from the clinic, the station commander added.

Montalvo was rushed to a hospital, where she was declared dead. No other injuries were reported.

Puerto said they initially considered the case as robbery with homicide, but upon further investigation, they are also looking at the angle of love triangle.

“Kung hold-up lang, dapat wala na sila gindala sa layo, pero may tuyo gid na patyon ang victim,” he said.
