BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Emergency Operations Center urged the public to seek early medical attention if they show signs of the coronavirus disease 2019 or Covid-19.
A press statement from the Bacolod Public Information Office said that early detection is one important step in curbing the spread of the Covid-19 disease. It will also lead to the isolation of a patient throughout the incubation period of the virus.
The Bacolod Respiratory Outpatient (BRO) Center continues to offer free consultation and free swabbing to test those who show Covid-19 symptoms.
According to the EOC, the public need not be afraid or hesitant in seeking consultation at the BRO Center since not everyone who has symptoms test positive for Covid-19.
EOC data showed that only 10 out of 170 persons who were swabbed at the BRO Center from January 18 to 31 tested positive for Covid-19.
All in all, the EOC only recorded a 1.76% positivity rate or 8 positive cases out of 455 individuals tested as of January 31.
Of these 455 individuals, 356 were tested during a surveillance testing conducted by the city government in a business process outsourcing (BPO) company.
The EOC clarified that not all those who are symptomatic who seek swabbing at the BRO Center test positive for Covid-19.
The BRO Center, located at the BAYS Center in front of the Bacolod City Public Plaza, serves as a catchment area for patients with early Covid-19 or influenza-like symptoms. (With a report from PIO)
