ROXAS CITY, Capiz– A lawyer of the chief executive officer (CEO) of a 25-Day Double your Money Investment Scheme confirmed that his client received death threats from unknown persons.
Lawyer Atlas Catalan said that the family of Junelyn Obamos Gregorio decided not to report the death threats to the police or barangay officials to avoid complicating the alleged strafing of her house last February 4, 2021.
Catalan cited CCTV footages showing that two persons on a motorcycle passed by Gregorio’s house at San Jose Village in Brgy. Tiza here and sprayed bullets on the gate and fence.
The suspects wore crash helmets.
Because of the threats, Gregorio decided to deactivate her social media accounts and did not entertain calls to her phone.
But Gregorio assured her investors that she will release their partial investment capital on February 20.
Punong Barangay Alfredo “Menong” Albaladejo of Tiza village here earlier denied the strafing incident.
Albaladejo shared his observation to the Roxas City police after no empty ammunition shell was recovered from the crime scene.
He added that the steel gate and concrete fence of the house of Madam O or Gregorio had no bullet marks.
Lieutenant Colonel Ricardo Jomuad, Jr., Roxas City police chief, said Thursday last week that no one reported the incident, not even Gregorio’s household or the village officials.
But police investigators still went to the scene of the alleged strafing.
“The gate has a dent, but it doesn’t look like it was hit by a bullet. If it was from a bullet, it would have penetrated through and through. It was probable that it came from a stone thrown at the gate,” Jomuad said.
When police knocked on the house, only a caretaker went out to face them.
Gregorio was allegedly not around, and the caretaker could not give any statement.
Jomuad said policemen also tried looking for answers from Gregorio’s neighbors but none came forward.
