BACOLOD City – A family problem is believed to have prompted a man to jump off the fourth floor of a shopping mall here around 4:20PM yesterday.

Lieutenant Joven Mogato, head of Police Station 2, said the mall’s security rushed the victim to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) but was declared dead on arrival due to head injuries.

Mogato said a suicide note was recovered by medical personnel from the victim’s pocket, indicating the cause of his suicide.

Mogato said the victim, a resident of Barangay Sum-ag here, asked forgiveness from his loved ones as written on the note.

However, the station commander refused to specifically elaborate further the content of the note.

Also recovered from the victim were a cellular phone, and PHP500.

Meanwhile, the mall’s management has yet to issue a statement on the incident.

Mogato said only the security personnel talked to the police during their investigation.
