Filipina skateboarding sensation Margielyn Didal added another prestigious award in her young and upcoming career after bagging the Women’s Asia Skater of the Year Award.
After two months of deliberation, the Asia Skate Awards committee released their final list of winners with Didal having the highest award in the women’s category.
The Cebuana native just collected a total amount of $1,800 prize from winning the award and two other categories, the Syle for Miles and Fastest Feet.
First breaking out in the Asian skateboarding scene last 2018, the jolly rising star clinched both the Asian Games and the Southeast Asian Games gold medals.
Since then, there was no stopping Didal in her path to skateboarding supremacy after joining several tournaments in the international scene as well as managing to win medals outside Asia.
Asia’s best woman skater is currently tightening up her preparations for the upcoming 2021 Tokyo Olympics but will still have to finish the remaining qualifiers in order to cement her rank as a Tokyo participant.
