ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The mother of a student who was arrested in a drug bust last March 28, 2021 at Cagay village here will sue the police team that led the operation after the case was dismissed for insufficient proof and lack of probable cause.
Mrs. Rosevie Doncillo said she is planning to file cases against the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) that arrested her son Prince Dave.
In a radio interview Wednesday, Rosevie said she was elated when the prosecutor dismissed the case against her son.
“Amon lamang ginapangamuyo nga ma-dismiss ang kaso sang akun anak agud dalayon na kami nga ma-kampante”, she said.
Rosevie said that they want to seek justice for her son by filing proper legal action in the court as she stood firm that Prince Dave was innocent.
She stressed that her son led bible studies with the other inmates at the detention cell of the Roxas City police station.
She admitted that the imprisonment has affected not only her son but their family as well. But they prayed to God to guide and protect them.
It was learned that Prince Dave is in good situation after he was released from the jail and they decided to move to another place.
Doncillo was arrested by the RPDEU in a buy-bust operation last March 28, 2021.
But the companion of Doncillo, identified as Jocelyn Cabisilla and also a resident of said place, escaped after sensing that she was dealing with an undercover police officer.
Punong Barangay Arthur Aragon of Barangay Cagay said Doncillo was innocent and the illegal items that were recovered from him were allegedly planted.
Aragon said Doncillo was known in the community as a good person and had no bad record in the barangay.
Doncillo arrived in Brgy. Cagay here last January 5, 2021 from Manila where his family were living.
Aragon said that Cabisilla is a suspected drug personality in the barangay because of her live-in partner’s link to another suspected drug peddler.
