Dr. Richard Gabayoyo and his Guimaras Players’ Center Sports Academy is back with a treat and will be holding the first-ever Zoom Dunk Competition in the province on May 1.
After organizing Guimaras’ first online chess tournament, Dr. Gabayoyo gained praises from his fellow Guimarasnons and wanted more given the limited opportunity for the Filipino athletes amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The upcoming tournament is open for all Guimarasnons with no age bracket restrictions, registration is also free.
Players will need to make sure they have stable internet connection if they are to compete at home or stable mobile data if they decide to use an outdoor court with permission from their respective barangays.
There will be three rounds and players will be eliminated along the way until the final stage with each dunk having a 1:30 time limit.
As for the judges, Dr. Gabayoyo will invite a special panel of judges hailing from other provinces in Panay.
