Police arrested one of the “most wanted” persons in Iloilo province on April 19, 2021 in Ajuy, Iloilo.

Arjun “Shabu” Bigot, 26, was collared at his residence in Barangay Adcadarao, Ajuy, around 10 a.m. Monday.

Members of Ajuy Police Station and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Intelligence Unit (IPPO-PIU), Iloilo Maritime Police Station, and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Iloilo Provincial Field Unit, apprehended the suspect by virtue of an arrest warrant for murder in Criminal Case No. 2020-9403.

Judge Oscar Leo S. Billena of the Iloilo Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 66 in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo issued the warrant of arrest on June 8, 2020. No bail was set for his temporary liberty.

Lieutenant Danilo Noca, Ajuy police chief, said Bigot was one of the accused in the murder of Marconi Amosin in 2019 at Barangay Gen. Luna, Barotac Viejo.

The other suspects were Efren Bagatnan and Eddie Ancuna.

Police records indicated that Bigot is a member of the Bagatnan Crime Group operating in the fourth and fifth districts of Iloilo province.

He left the area around March 2021 until he was sighted cultivating their cornfield at the hinterland village of Tubogan, Ajuy.

The motive for Amosin’s slay remains unknown, although reports indicated that he was also a suspect in the shooting to death of another person several years back.

In October 2017, there were reports that three men who were wearing bonnets abducted Amosin’s sons, then 20 and 15 years old, at their home in Barangay Gen. Luna, Barotac Viejo.

As this developed, Bigot is detained and will be turned over to the court concerned for proper disposition of his case.
