The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) said it already has persons of interest behind the killing of an Iloilo Fishing Port Complex employee.
But Colonel Uldarico Gatbanzos, Iloilo City police chief, refused to provide any hint on the possible suspects behind the assassination of Glenn Peremne.
But Garbanzos said their investigation led them to believe that Peremne, 42, of Barangay Calaparan, Arevalo district, was killed due to work-related grudges.
“We’re considering all possible motives, but it appeared that conflict arising from his work could have triggered the killing,” he said.
Peremne was employed as IPFC safety and health officer.
The victim was driving his motorcycle when he was shot by riding-in-tandem gunmen along Zone 5, Barangay San Juan, Molo evening of Friday.
CCTV camera footages showed that the back rider shot the victim and subsequently alighted from the motorcycle and again fired a finishing shot on the victim.
He fled on foot before boarding a vehicle.
Peremne succumbed to gunshot injuries on his left shoulder, hand, chest, and back portion of his body.
Garbanzos admitted that the CCTV footages don’t offer a clear view of the vehicles and the gunman.
“We’re working to enhance the footages so that it could lead us to the vehicles used in the commission of the crime,” he said.
Even earlier, Peremne’s family claimed that the victim had intimated that he had a heated confrontation with another person at the fish port complex.
He subsequently received death threats.
Peremne’s wife claimed that her husband had been strict in implementing rules inside the facility which might have earned the ire of some people.
