BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and other officials of the province are set to be inoculated against COVID-19 today, April 30, 2021 at the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital.
Negros Occidental Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said that aside from Lacson, three local chief executives and four provincial board members will also be inoculated.
They are Mayors Manuel Escalante of Manapla, Ernesto Estrao of Hinoba-an, Jose Nadie Arceo of Hinigaran, and Board Members Samson Mirhan, Araceli Somosa, Victor Javellana, and Sixto Guanzon.
The three town mayors will be vaccinated with the CoronaVac vaccines, while the Provincial Board Members will be inoculated with AstraZeneca, Diaz said.
Other mayors in the province have also signified their willingness to be vaccinated.
Diaz said some department heads who are willing to be vaccinated are Provincial Veterinary Head Dr. Renante Decena, Provincial Agriculture Office Head Atty. Japhet Masculino, Dr. Narissa Lemoncito of the Phil. Rural Development Project and Jun Caberoy of the Bids and Awards Committee.
He said there is high demand for vaccines in the province since they have a substantial number of health workers.
