A ‘birthday pantry’ for the late councilor

The late Sangguniang Panglunsod (SP) member Armand Parcon II would have celebrated his 61st birthday anniversary today, May 4.

To celebrate the occasion, his daughter Frances Grace Parcon-Torres – who has taken over his SP post – is sponsoring a “birthday pantry” today for his fellow residents at barangay Concepcion, where he had lived from birth (May 4, 1960) to his untimely demise on May 23, 2019 at age 59, a few days after his proclamation as one of Iloilo City’s re-elected councilors.

“Instead of a birthday party,” his daughter stressed, “it would be a community/birthday pantry on the roadside, where barangay folks would be welcome to handpick foodstuff for their next meal.”

The late councilor is well remembered as the author of the Perimeter Boundary Ordinance which has eased vehicular traffic in the city.
