Three fall in Pototan drug stings

Three persons were arrested in two separate anti-narcotics operation in Pototan, Iloilo on May 7, 2021.

The first police operation led to the arrest of Jesrel Fernandez, 18, and Claren Gallones, 19, both residents of Barangay Rumbang, Pototan, Iloilo.

They were collared around 4 pm Friday at P. Ledesma Ward, Pototan by members of Pototan Police Station and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (IPPO-PDEU) Team 2 after allegedly selling a sachet of suspected shabu to a police undercover agent.

Recovered from their possession were 15 sachets of suspected shabu including the buy-bust item, P100 cash, P2,200 including the P2,000 boodle or fake money and two P100 marked bills, a mobile phone, and a coin pouch.

It wasn’t long before the suspects squealed that their alleged source was John Michael Gabrino, 27, a resident of Lopez Jaena Ward, Pototan.

Gabrino was arrested 6 a.m. Saturday at F Parcon Ward, Pototan.

Seized from his possession was six sachets of suspected shabu, a coin pouch, a mobile phone, cash of P2,000, and P100 marked money.

All three suspects are now detained and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
