BACOLOD City – Moises Padilla Mayor Ella Garcia- Yulo said Thursday that she has coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
In a statement, Yulo said she underwent Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction Test (RT-PCR) testing on Wednesday.
Because of this, the mayor’s office is temporarily closed until further notice.
She said all the staff at the Mayor’s Office are currently in isolation and will be subjected to swab test as well.
“We will resume operation once our local health officer has given us clearance to do so,” Yulo said.
Yulo encourage everyone to take advantage of the free vaccines given by the government as “through this we can be protected from the effects of the virus which includes hospitalization and even death.”
Aside from her office, Yulo’s entire household was also placed on isolation and will be tested.
Yulo received her first dose of the vaccine last May 22, 2021.
