Alex Eala is on fire after handing a 6-2, 6-0 beat down over Matilde Paoletti of Italy to qualify for the Round of 16 of the girls’ J1 Roehampton singles event tournament.
The Filipina tennis star is finally getting her grip on the grass surface in preparation for the big stage at the 2021 Wimbledon in London.
As part of her warm-up, she and her coaching team decided to join the J1 tournament with a week left before the bright lights set in Wimbledon.
Eala hasn’t lost a single set in her two matches and won by convincing fashion in two days, one good sight to see for her camp after they transitioned from the clay-court surface.
It was the same strategy and performance Eala produced from her first game and unleashed huge forehand winners to assert her baseline dominance.
Eala also bounced back from a rough serving performance during the 2021 French Open tournament and has become consistent with her first service game.
Entering the tournament as the seed No. 2, Eala will be seeking to weather the storm and take home the championship trophy.
