Rape suspect nabbed after 15 years of hiding

ROXAS CITY, Capiz— A 36-year-old construction worker from Sigma, Capiz was arrested by police Wednesday in Brgy. San Martin IV in San Jose del Monte (SJDM), Bulacan for a rape case filed here.

Police from Ivisan and Bulacan served an arrest warrant against Armando Voluntad at Blk 82, Lot 224, Phase 6, Sta. Cruz 3, SJDM.

Voluntad is wanted for rape in relation to Republic Act 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act).

The warrant was issued by then Regional Trial Court Branch 21 Judge Daniel Antonio Gerardo S. Amular of Mambusao, Capiz on December 26, 2006.

He was not allowed to post bail.

Voluntad is presently detained at the Bulacan 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company and will be transferred to Sigma Municipal Police Station soon.

The suspect fled after a crime of rape was filed against him.

Meanwhile, three more persons wanted for rape were also arrested Wednesday in separate operations at Barangays Poblacion and Ilaya-Ivisan in Ivisan, Capiz.

The arrested suspects were Kim Carlo Barres Campos, 18, and John Rey Macario, 21, both of Poblacion; and a 16-year-old boy from Ilaya-Ivisan.

The three were charged for rape in relation to RA 7610 in Criminal Case Nos. C-05-21, C-06-21, C-07-21, C-08-21 and C-09-21.

Roxas City RTC Branch 14 Judge Faustino Roxas Jr. issued the arrest warrants on July 7, 2021.
