BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has recorded a new active case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) this month.

Police Major Sherlock Gabana, BCPO information officer, said the virus infected a station commander here.

Gabana said the police officer went home to Iloilo a few days ago and was later hospitalized there due to fever and difficulty of breathing.

Because of these symptoms, the station commander underwent a swab test and the result was released last Wednesday, indicating that he tested positive for COVID-19, Gabana added.

Gabana said that disinfection was immediately conducted at the police station, while those who have close contacts with the COVID-infected cop were advised to be on quarantine, pending the results of their swab tests.

“Wala lockdown sa station kay indi man na puwede,” Gabana said.

He also said that the remaining personnel can cope up with the daily operations and duties at the station.
