ICPO vies for PNP’s best city police office honors

Will it be a back-to-back win for the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) as the country’s best city police office?

Or will it yield to equally strong contenders from Davao City Police Office and Olongapo City Police Office?

On Wednesday, ICPO personnel headed by city director Colonel Uldarico Garbanzos were interviewed via virtual platform to assess their winning chances.

“It’s already a distinction being chosen as one of the top three finalists,” Garbanzos said.

Winning, he said, would just be a bonus – big and sweet bonus.

And what could be their winning edge?

“I’m just proud that we have a disciplined police force. Our accomplishments could speak for itself,” he said.

Garbanzos also cited good reports from the local government unit, barangay leaders, and other stakeholders.

He added that ICPO was able to post a dramatic drop in its crime volume in the past year.

In 2020, ICPO was adjudged as the country’s best city police office.

It was the first time the unit has captured the award relative to the celebration of the Police Service Anniversary.
