ROXAS CITY – Police are looking for a retired teacher accused of shooting a 77-year-old farmer Friday morning at Brgy. Balighot, Maayon, Capiz.
Police identified the victim as Percito Tolentino of said barangay.
Investigation by the Maayon police indicated that Tolentino figured in an argument with Pascual Dumagpi.
While in the middle of their heated conversation, Dumagpi drew a .45 caliber gun from his waist and shot Tolentino four times.
The victim suffered four gunshot wounds on the abdomen and was immediately taken by bystanders to Bailan District Hospital in Pontevedra, Capiz.
Tolentino was later transferred to Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital (RMPH) here because of the seriousness of his wounds. A member of the family, however, confirmed that the victim died around 11am.
Dumagpi hurriedly fled, bringing with him his gun.
