Alyssa Valdez and the rest of the Creamline Cool Smashers showed why they are the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) champions after dispatching Mika Reyes and Sta. Lucia, 25-18, 25-21, 25-27, 25-18.

It was a total team effort for the girls in pink as they got solid contributions from Valdez, Michelle Gumabao, and Jia Morado.

Things went interesting in the third set as Sta. Lucia showed some signs of life and was able to steal a set from the Cool Smashers.

MJ Philips and Reyes began to connect on their quick set attacks and helped their team fight back but Valdez once again sparked another Creamline offensive barrage at the start of the last set.

Gumabao also starred in that span and had several solid spikes to help them pull away and finish with 24 points on 21 attacks.

Valdez had 20 clean points on 17 attacks and three blocks while Morado tallied 25 outstanding sets and chipped in five points.

“Naging supportive ang management dahil naka dalawang bubble kami. Siyempre hindi natin masasabi kung ano magiging game kasi syempre matagal nga yung bakasyon. ‘Yun team naman naging ready naman sila sa game na ito,” said Creamline assistant coach Sherwin Meneses.
