Farmer stabs trike driver to death

ROXAS CITY, Capiz— A 29-year-old tricycle driver was stabbed dead by a 65-year-old farmer Sunday afternoon at Sitio Bukid in Brgy. Lacaron, Dao, Capiz.

Police identified the victim as Ramon Delfin Jr., of said barangay.

Investigation by PSSg Ramel Paras, Dao Municipal Police Station investigator, indicated that Delfin was driving his motorcycle with his mother as backrider when the suspect identified as German Enorme stopped him.

A heated argument ensued between them that resulted to a fistfight.

The mother tried to pacify them, but Enorme suddenly drew a knife and repeatedly stabbed the victim.

Delfin was taken to Se. Gerry Roxas District Hospital in Dao town, but he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Enorme fled but was later arrested by the police in a hot pursuit operation.

Prior to the incident, the two attended the birthday party of their friend and drank liquor.

They later figured in a heated argument, but Enorme later.

Meanwhile, Delfin’s family will file criminal charges against the suspect who is presently detained at Dao police station.
