BACOLOD City – Personnel of Police Station 2 here are investigating the motive behind the killing of a man who was later identified as a drug surrenderer of Barangay Mambulac, Silay City, Negros Occidental.
Police Captain Paul Vincent Pendon, head of Police Station 2, identified the victim as Ralph Suspeñes, 24, of Barangay Mambulac.
Pendon said Suspeñes was identified after his mother coordinated with the police Friday, several hours after he was found lifeless by a rider on the grassy part of Palanca Street, Reclamation Area, Barangay 2 here.
Suspeñes succumbed to four gunshot wounds in his lower abdomen and back.
Pendon said the victim was jailed for a drug offense in May 2018 and was released through plea bargaining in August 2020.
Although he had a previous drug case, it is not yet conclusive that the incident might be linked to illegal drugs.
“Indi pa ma determine ang angle kay basi may kontra man siya bala before the incident happened,” he added.
Pendon said the recovered two empty cartridges and live ammunition of a suspected .45 caliber pistol from the scene will be subjected to ballistic examination.
