The Public Employment Services Office (PESO) of Tubungan, Iloilo was awarded as the Regional Winner for the 2021 Secretary’s Bayanihan Service Award under the 4th class Municipal Category by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on Wednesday, August 25.
“We are humbled and honored to be hailed as the regional winner of this award. This recognition is a testament to PESO-Tubungan’s hard work, sacrifices, commitment, and invaluable services to our people,” PESO Tubungan Manager Emelyn Tano said.
Tano received the award during the awarding ceremony which highlighted the opening of the three-day 4th Regional PESO Congress on August 25 via Zoom.
The virtual activity organized by DOLE 6 was participated in by the PESO Managers and Job Placement Officers in Western Visayas.
DOLE confers the award to give recognition to PESOs for exemplifying innovation, resilience, and humanitarian services amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Garnering an average of 96%, PESO Tubungan emerged as winner and bested other PESO contenders in the region for the award with criteria that include innovation – 40%, resilience- 30%, and humanitarian services-30%.
Tano said they feel proud that their unique initiatives and efforts were cited as they strive for excellence in delivering services to Tubunganons despite the limitations brought by the crisis.
“To adopt with the changes, to aim for development, to reach out and deliver services amid the pandemic is not easy but with the support of the LGU- Tubungan headed by Mayor Roquito Tacsagon and the TUBONG spirit of the Tubunganons, everything is possible,” she said.
PESO-Tubungan has launched Project BINHI as its flagship program under Innovation, Project TAMPAD under Resilience, and Project TUBONG under Humanitarian Services.
The said projects are geared towards providing sustainable livelihood and ensuring delivery of better services to Tubunganons. (PIA)
