BACOLOD City – Police are looking for a wingvan truck driver that allegedly ran over a woman at Barangay Bagtic, Silay City, Negros Occidental on Monday night.

Police identified the victim as Mirasol Wayong, 42, of Barangay E. Lopez.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Robert Petate, city police chief, said Wayong allegedly crashed into the rear part of the wingvan truck while she was on her way home.

The victim was thrown off her motorcycle and was reportedly ran over by the rear wheel of the wingvan truck, Petate said.

Petate said the wingvan truck driver, however, did not stop to check the victim, who was declared dead on arrival at a hospital.

Police already have a lead as they continue to check closed circuit television (CCTV) camera footage in the area.

Petate said they have no idea yet why the victim was still outside her house while the province is currently implementing curfew hours until 8 p.m. under the Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) amid the pandemic.
