ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Capiz first district Rep. Emmanuel “Tawi” Billones confirmed that some individuals posed as fixers for his office’s financial assistance program for indigent persons in their district.
Billones said they already identified the persons who are now under investigation after one of the recipients complained to his office about deductions from their financial assistance.
He said that they identified four to five suspected fixers in Roxas City and Pontevedra town.
Billones clarified that his office has nothing to do with the alleged fixing because his staff merely prepared the processing of the papers while the Department of Social Welfare and Development releases the cheques.
He called on his constituents not to entertain persons who offer to help process their papers.
