71 establishments in Iloilo City and Iloilo province have secured safety seals from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Region 6.

The safety seal certification recognizes establishments that have been consistently complying with the minimum public health standards and integrates their contact tracing mechanism with StaySafe.ph.

DTI-Iloilo reported that the Atrium branch of the Iloilo Supermart Group of stores is among the latest to secure a safety seal from the agency. The grocery store is among the 33 supermarkets and groceries in Iloilo province and Iloilo City that have been presented with safety seals as proof that they have been complying with the minimum public standards.

“The Atrium branch is the first in the Iloilo Supermart Group of stores and is the 33rd grocery/supermarket in the growing list of establishments with their Safety Seal presented by the DTI Iloilo Province Office. Iloilo City and Province has a total of 71 seals presented to various establishments under the DTI’s scope in the issuance of the said seal.”

Meanwhile, DTI has clarified that Safety Seal Certification is a voluntary certification scheme to affirm the implementation of minimum public health standards and contact tracing efforts of establishments.

The DTI issues the Safety Seal for supermarkets, groceries, convenience stores, membership shopping clubs, construction supply/hardware stores, logistics service providers, barbershops and salons, and service and repair shops.

In Iloilo City, the Iloilo Safety Seal Certification Program Inspection and Certification Committee has issued 88 safety seals to establishments in the metro, as of Sept. 4, 2021.

The establishments include malls, fast-food chains, business process outsourcing (BPOs), and other business establishments in the city.
