BACOLOD City – A tricycle driver who figured in a road collision with a sports utility vehicle (SUV) in Barangay 18 here last Tuesday passed away while being treated at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) here.
Police Lieutenant Andy Ofalia, deputy station commander of Police Station 2, confirmed on Wednesday the death of Gilward Dalumpines of Barangay Handumanan here.
Ofalia also identified yesterday the unidentified tricycle passenger as Norma Libo-on, 74, of Barangay Handumanan here, who also succumbed to injuries in the accident.
Ofalia earlier said that both vehicles were believed to be speeding while crossing an intersection.
The 36-year-old SUV driver from Tarlac was released from police custody yesterday after the lapse of his 18-hour reglementary detention.
He also had an initial settlement with the families of both victims, the deputy station commander added.
