Finally, Rhenz Abando is back.

After almost two years of not seeing him play on the basketball court due to the COVID-19 pandemic, one of the best young stars is back and will be gracing another emerging league in the country, the Filbasket.

Filbasket, the newest amateur basketball league in the Philippines, is founded by former Ateneo Blue Eagles champion Jai Reyes.

“We pride ourselves in building a league that is inclusive and makes basketball and talents of the players as the main product,” said Reyes.

Abando, who earlier left the University of Santo Tomas basketball program after their varsity fiasco involving former head coach Aldin Ayo, is currently under the Letran Knights.

However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, UAAP and NCAA games can’t still push through, especially contact sports.

With no definite timeline for the return of the NCAA, it was confirmed that Abando will be playing for the San Juan Knights in Filbasket.

San Juan still wasn’t able to release their full roster but Filbasket’s social media pages already welcomed Abando donning the San Juan jersey.
