ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Police say they have “persons of interest” on the series of hold up incidents here.
Police Lt. Col. Aron Palomo, Roxas City PNP chief, said the same set of suspects are linked to robbery hold-up incidents here in the past days.
Romeo “Bongbong” Alolor, who was arrested in July 2021, was identified by one of his victims.
Palomo said the suspects targeted victims who walked alone and forcibly take their money and cellphone.
The suspects would ride a motorcycle and ask assistance from their purported victims only to later rob them.
Palomo asked the public to avoid walking alone particularly during nighttime.
The latest incident involved three minors in Brgy. Sibaguan who were playing Mobile Legends (ML) on their cellphone when the suspects passed by and asked where to buy gasoline.
The suspects later declared hold up at knifepoint, took their cellphones then fled.
The same suspects were believed to be behind holdups in Sibaguan, Lawaan, and Gabuan villages here.
The police asked village officials to conduct roving patrol in their respective areas to prevent the robberies.
