BACOLOD City – Two persons who reportedly drowned in Negros Occidental over the weekend were found dead days later.
In Pulupandan town, a fisherman found the body of Daryl Decreto, 30, of Bago City floating in the waters of Barangay Tapong last Monday.
It was confirmed by rescuers that search and retrieval operations were conducted in Bago City, following a drowning incident in Barangay Malingin last Saturday.
According to Decreto’s family, as cited in the police report, the victim was last seen taking a bath at Malingin river on Oct 16 when he slipped and was swept by the strong river current.
On Oct 19, the remains of Felix Zamora Sr., 72, of Murcia town was found in Barangay Lopez Jaena.
Investigation indicated that the victim was crossing a river when he drowned last Saturday.
The victim suffered injuries in his head and body.
