September 24, 2022 will be the last and final mass payout for the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Region 6 (DSWD-6)’s educational assistance, the agency said Friday.
Atty. May Rago-Castillo, DSWD-6 regional information officer, said that the sixth Saturday payout is expected to benefit 7,105 students.
“And we will disburse the remaining P19 million for this last payout,” she said.
As such, Castillo has advised all 7,105 beneficiaries who received a text message and email to go to their designated payout venue.
Iloilo province will have the most number of beneficiaries at 1,811 while Negros Occidental has 1,571.
Antique and Capiz provinces have 750 beneficiaries each; Aklan with 736; Iloilo City with 550; Bacolod City with 537; and Guimaras with 400.
Inasmuch as the agency wanted to give assistance to more qualified students, “our financial resources are not enough to cover all. That’s why we are asking for your understanding,” Castillo said.
It was gathered that the number of online applications for students who want to avail of the educational assistance in Western Visayas has reached 591,744.
The five student aid payouts in the region have benefited 38,590 students.
It was gathered that 8,837 of whom are elementary received P1,000 each; 7,286 junior high school students got P2,000 each; 5,028 senior high school students received P3,000 each; and 17,439 college/vocational students got P4,000 each. Iloilo, to include Iloilo City, has the most number of beneficiaries at 12,371 (P37.295 million) while Negros Occidental, to include Bacolod City, has 11,096 students (P31.257 million); Capiz with 4,499 beneficiaries (P12.019 million); Antique with 4,256 (P11.672 million); Aklan with 4,080 (P10.594 million); and Guimaras with 2,288 students (P5.412 million).
