The Student Organizations and Activities (SOA) Unit of the Office of Student Affairs conducted the SOA Orientation for the first semester of AY 2022-2023 on Sept 21, 2022, via hybrid set-up at the CFOS AV Hall and via Zoom.
Forty-three students attended the face-to-face orientation, while 78 joined the activity via Zoom. The program started at 9:00 AM and ended at 11:30 AM.
It was the first face-to-face SOA orientation since the pandemic started in 2020.
OSA Director Prof. Agustin G. Huyong gave his welcome remarks. The guest speakers were Atty. Richard I. Iquiña, who talked about the Anti-Hazing Law of 2018 and Engr. Francis Eric P. Almaquer, the Student Relations Officer of the School of Technology, presented the Application for Recognition and the Process of Request for College-based Organizations. The SOA Staff, Ms. Rona Lie Narida, presented an overview of the SOA unit and the University-wide Organizations.
Students were very active during the open forum, where the guest speakers and the SOA Coordinator, Prof. Pilar Mercedes A. Retiracion, addressed the questions. (UPV IPO)
