Reig Jr, Quiambao share Alveo 5150 Subic Bay victory

SUBIC BAY – Irienold Reig Jr. topped his performance from water to land, while Bea Marie Quiambao dashed to take first place in the women’s division as they shared top honors in the Alveo 5150 Triathlon in Subic Bay on October 23, 2022.

Reig Jr. finished the race in two hours, twelve minutes, and 49 seconds, beating out other triathletes in the penultimate Olympic-distance race featuring a 1.5km swim, a 40km bike, and a 10km run event.

Reig Jr. dominated the men’s 15-19 age category in a close battle with Raymund Gerard Velasco, who finished in 2:13:06 (M35-39), and Julian Sebastian Teves, who raced in 2:13:54. (M25-29).

Meanwhile, top female bet Bea Quiambao is unbeaten as she chases her second triumph in the season’s third and final 5150 race under the new normal after conquering the 5150 in Bohol last July.

Quiambao of the 20-24 age group secured the overall 5150 crown in the women’s category, clocking 2:23:25 to beat Kath Lagunsad of the 30-34 age group and Pilar Angela Paraiso of the 35-39 age group, who timed 2:41:51 and 2:41:51, respectively.

Sharing the podium were other 5150 age-group winners Adrien Arqueza (Male 20-24), Julian Sebastian Teves (25-29), Gabb Rosario (30-34), Raymund Gerard Velasco (35-39), Haythem El-Ansary (40-44), Stephane Duranton (45-49), Alexander Isip (50-54), Mark Morel (55-59), Hiroshi Iwabuchi (60-64), Francesca Rae Musni (Female 15-19), Gaea Maranon (25-29), Kath Lagunsad (30-34), Pilar Angela Paraiso (35-39), Ma. Lourdes Cabero (40-44), Nylah Rizza Bautista (45-49), Janet Ching (50-54).

The Alveo 5150 triathlon and Go For Gold Subic Bay is fully organized by Sunrise Events Inc. part of the IRONMAN Group. Other titles to be disputed in the event, sponsored by Alveo, SBMA, Finis, Rudy Project, Sante Barley, Lalamove, Active, and the Go For Gold Sunrise Sprint.
