BACOLOD City – The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) northern Negros Occidental has allowed the resumption of sea trips here and in Negros Occidental to Cebu, Iloilo, and vice-versa starting Sunday, Oct. 30, 2022.
In its latest sea travel advisory, Commander Joe Luviz Mercurio, head of PCG northern Negros Occidental, said that Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 hoisted over Visayas region due to Tropical Storm “Paeng” was already lifted at 11 p.m. on Oct. 29.
This means that regular operations of all trips of vessels en route to Daan Bantayan via Cadiz Commercial port, Dumangas, Iloilo via Bacolod Real Estate Development Corp. (Bredco) port and Banago port here, Iloilo via Bredco port, Tabuelan, Cebu via Sagay City and Escalante City, and Toledo City, Cebu via San Carlos City, and vice-versa, may now resume.
However, there is no advice yet regarding the trips to and from Manila via Bredco port here, as it was not included in the latest advisory.
Last Friday, the PCG ordered the suspension of sea trips due to Tropical Storm “Paeng,” which displaced thousands of Negrenses here and in the province.
The suspension of sea trips also caused a total of 1,044 passengers and 353 cargoes stranded in various seaports in Western Visayas.
