BACOLOD City – Mayor Salvador Escalante of Cadiz City, Negros Occidental said that an 11-hectare government center is soon to rise at Brgy. Tinampa-an.
Escalante told reporters here that the property purchased by the city government costs around P70 million and is expected to be fully paid by January 2023.
The mayor also said that four hectares will be allocated for a sports complex oval which is expected to be completed also in 2023.
The remaining seven hectares will be earmarked for the site of the Cadiz City College, common-use facilities for local product start-up businesses such as dried fish and turmeric, among others, the mayor further said.
The common-use facilities have a budget of P10 million to P15 million, and P20 million is allocated for the 11-hectare property’s fencing.
Escalante said he asked the help of Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson to allocate funds for the road network, while Rep. Alfredo Maranon III also allocated funds for the construction of the sports complex, on top of what his predecessor, former Rep. Leo Rafael Cueva has contributed.
As soon as the purchase of the property is completed, Escalante said “that will be the time to start the development.”
