BACOLOD City – The Performance Based Bonus (PBB) of more than 3,000 regular and casual employees of the provincial government of Negros Occidental remains uncertain for a lack of guidelines from the Department of Budget of Management (DBM).
The PBB was supposedly scheduled for release by the provincial government as early as January 2023.
During a courtesy call on Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, Renelo Lastierre, president of the Progressive Alliance of Capitol Employees (PACE), said that they were told by the governor that the provincial government is still waiting for the DBM and Civil Service Commission joint circular for issuance of PBB.
Lastierre said the PBB is equivalent to 60 percent of the basic salary of a local government unit employee.
Lastierre recalled that the provincial government even readied funds for it since December last year.
He further said that PACE understands that there is an impediment if there is no basis for the province to grant the PBB.
It can be recalled in December last year Lacson directed the release of the P40,000 bonus for the provincial government’s employees and assured that the granting of performance based bonuses (PBB) will also be reviewed in January.
