On mutilated human body parts: Cops told to look for missing persons

BACOLOD City – Police Colonel Noel Aliño, acting director of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), directed investigators to look for missing persons.

This is to aid the policemen in identifying the owners of the mutilated human body parts dumped in various areas here since January.

“Kung hindi man dito, baka meron sa province, or sa ibang lugar,” Aliño said.

The BCPO has recorded three incidents of severed body parts. The first incident was reported at Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2 on Jan. 25, where two severed hands placed inside a plastic container along with a paper with names linking them to illegal drugs, was found by a garbage collector.

Two months later, a pair of severed human feet were found dumped in front of an establishment along C.L. Montelibano, Barangay Villamonte on March 29.

The following month, a severed hand along with a note linking a policeman to illegal drugs, was also found dumped at the roadside at Zone 3, Ilang-Ilang Street, Purok Riverside, Barangay Bata on April 17.

Police suspect that the mutilated body parts could be from deceased individuals.

Aliño said in a media interview that there should be coordination with morgues and funeral parlors to account for deceased persons and to check if there are missing parts on the cadavers.

He said that he is planning to create a tracker team or a special investigation team that could focus on probing such cases.

“Kung kaya, magkakaroon tayo ng special investigation team para mag imbestiga,” he added.

These cases alarmed Mayor Alfredo “Albee” Benitez, who wondered about the motives.

Benitez said that it seems that the city is being taunted by these incidents.

With Aliño’s arrival here, Benitez is hoping that he can put an end to this, stressing that the public wanted to see the results of the investigation.
