The construction of the new road project in Barangay Libertad, Banate, Iloilo undertaken by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Iloilo 2nd District Engineering Office, is expected to have a significant impact on local communities such as access to essential services and boost the local economy.
The ₱4.8-million project involves the construction of a 0.4-kilometer road, with a thickness of 0.2 meters and a width of 5 meters, funded under the FY 2022 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
Citing from the report of District Engineer Allan Rey R. Pajimna, Regional Director Nerie D. Bueno said the construction of the road stimulates economic growth in the area, making it easier for businesses to reach new customers and markets, creating job opportunities for residents, and boosting the local economy.
“The road project in Banate will provide significant benefits to the communities of the town and its neighboring municipalities as it will enhance their access to basic services and facilities,” said Director Bueno.
Moreover, the road will improve access to essential services such as schools, health centers, and markets, thereby leading to improved living standards for the residents.
The completion of this project will build a more prosperous and connected community. Its location on the coast, combined with its improved accessibility, makes it an ideal place for economic development that will positively impact the surrounding communities.
