BACOLOD City – Two women were arrested in separate buy-bust operations that resulted in the confiscation of P780,000 worth of suspected shabu here and in Negros Occidental last Wednesday.

The biggest drug haul was reported in San Carlos City, with the seizure of 100 grams of suspected shabu worth P680,000.

Police arrested Jocelyn Yaon, 46, of Barangay 5.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Jesus Mesahon Jr., city police chief, said that Yaon was subjected to a one-week monitoring after she was pointed as an alleged source by some drug suspects who were previously arrested.

Mesahon said the suspect is considered a high value individual, considering the volume of illegal drugs seized from her.

Yaon allegedly sourced the contraband from Bacolod City and distributes it within San Carlos City.

Charges for the sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs were filed against the suspect yesterday.

In Bacolod, Ma. Theresa Mendoza, 45, of Barangay 29 here, was apprehended after police confiscated from her 15 grams of suspected shabu worth P100,000.

Police Captain Francis Depasucat, head of Police Station 5, said that Mendoza was previously arrested for a drug offense and was convicted at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City.

Depasucat said the suspect was released from jail two years ago. She is a street level individual, according to the police.
