A cell center agent died in a vehicular incident morning of July 2 in La Paz, Iloilo City.
Michael Joshua Gailo, 25, a resident of Barangay East Baluarte, Molo was rushed to West Visayas State University Medical Center but died more than an hour later.
According to reports, the victim was on his way to his boarding house at the back portion of Ledesco village when the incident happened.
On board a Kymco motorcycle, the victim was passing by Barangay Lopez Jaena Sur around 4:30 a.m. of Sunday when he collided with a Nissan Navarra pick-up truck.
The truck was driven by Lynel Jan Sabran, 26, of Jaro, Iloilo City.
Chief Master Sergeant Dennis Yee, ICPO Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Unit (TIEU) investigator, said they have not determined who was at fault since both vehicles were already on the side of the road when they arrived.
Police saw a protective helmet near Gailo’s motorcycle but “we could not ascertain if he was wearing it during the collision,” Yee said.
Her added that Sabran was possibly drunk because he was reeking with alcohol when investigators talked to him.
Sabran claimed that he brought his friends to Smallville Complex in Mandurriao district after the latter slept in their house,
The suspect only suffered hematoma on his eye.
Yee said that the victim could have died of internal hemorrhage. Blood was oozing from his ears and nose when police arrived at the scene.
Meanwhile, there was already an in initial talk of settlement between two parties.
Gailo orphaned a 7-month-old daughter with his live-in partner.
