The Cignal HD Spikers vented its ire on the Foton Tornadoes after sweeping them, 25-10, 25-16, 25-22, in the ongoing Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Invitational Conference last July 11, 2203, held at the Philsports Arena in Pasig.

Cignal used their one-week break to go back to the drawing board after absorbing a tightly-contested loss at the hands of the revamped F2 Logistics Cargo Movers.

Their adjustments and improved gameplay then helped them re-enter the winning column and just pummeled the struggling Foton team in three-straight sets.

It was all Cignal in the opening frame as the duo of Ces Molina and Ilongga Jovelyn Gonzaga punished Foton’s middle blockers with their clever attacks.

Despite receiving several weird angles when they went up for their cross-court kills, the dynamic duo of Cignal still found a way to turn garbage into gold which helped them clinch the momentum early in the first set.

The same scenario happened in the following set as Foton just didn’t have answers to Cignal’s blazing offense.

Aside from their waxing hot offense, the HD Spikers also relied on their on-point floor coverage generated from their collective effort of diving for Foton’s quick hits.

Foton finally woke up in the third and final set as Shaya Adorador found her offensive groove midway through the frame.

The veteran outside hitter and former member of the national team tried to put Foton on her back after single-handedly keeping them within striking distance but the HD Spikers gathered themselves in the most perfect time of the third set to launch a match-ending offensive snowball.

“Syempre very thankful kami kay Lord kasi ginuide niya kami sa buong game and yung opportunity na nakapag-training at nakapag-prepare after namin matalo sa last game, so good sign na nakarecover kami at naipanalo namin yung game,” said Cignal head coach Shaq Delos Santos.
