ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Thirteen employees of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) were transferred to give way to the investigation on the alleged anomalies in the release of financial assistance being conducted by an ad hoc committee of the provincial board.
Lawyer Luvim Amores, concurrent human resources and management officer and public information officer of the Capiz provincial government, confirmed the reassignment of the 13 PSWDO personnel so as not to hamper and influence the investigation led by retired provincial prosecutor Edwin Devano.
She said the 13 personnel were some of the employees tagged in the alleged anomalies at the PSWDO.
Of the 13 employees, 5 were temporarily assigned to the Hospital Management Unit while the others were at the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office and Taskforce Pagdumdom.
Amores added that PSWDO head Nieva Camposano was relieved from her office and reassigned to the office of the governor.
Camposano was replaced by Josephine Degala as Officer-In-Charge.
Amores clarified that the reassigned employees should not be judged as guilty, but only to give a proper resolution to the allegations.
The ad hoc committee has been given two months to investigate.
She said that the provincial government has requested the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to conduct a separate investigation on the purported anomalies.
The ad hoc committee was created by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Capiz last week.
Vice Governor Jaime “Mitang” Magbanua said Governor Fredenil “Oto” Castro ordered the investigation to shed light on allegations that some employees were involved in the irregularities.
The investigative body is composed of retired prosecutors and active lawyers in the province of Capiz.
