BACOLOD City – Police have accounted for four of the five suspects linked in a commotion that killed a man and wounded his younger brother in Barangay San Vicente, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental last Sunday.
Police Major Randy Babor, town police chief, said that two more suspects were arrested at their respective houses in Isabela town last Monday after they were identified by Alexander Dela Peña, 27, of Isabela town, who was first arrested in Barangay San Jose, Binalbagan town.
Dela Peña was arrested after his get-away motorcycle crashed while being pursued by policemen.
Babor said the fourth suspect was apprehended last Tuesday in Isabela town, while the last suspect is still at large.
Babor said that drunkenness was the motive of the incident which killed 42-year-old Jomarie Getunzo, and wounded his brother Ernesto, 40.
Based on police investigation, Getunzo and the five suspects figured in a commotion after a drinking session.
The suspects allegedly ganged up on Jomarie and hacked him, prompting Ernesto to pacify the commotion.
However, the suspects also allegedly hacked and stabbed Ernesto.
Babor said they already have a lead on the whereabouts of the fifth suspect.
Homicide and frustrated homicide charges were filed against the suspects, according to Babor.
