Two alleged drug pushers were arrested in separate police anti-narcotics operations in Pavia, Iloilo evening of September 4.

Police identified the suspects as Jennywel Tanaman, 38, of Purok 4  Pavia, and Wilfredo Golez, Jr., 36, of Railway St, Poblacion Zone 6, Sta. Barbara.

Major Dadje Delima, Pavia police chief, said that Tanaman is an alleged high value individual (HVI) on the target list of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) while Golez is a purported street level pusher.

But both persons’ alleged operations are being linked to drug personalities detained at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City.

Members of Pavia Municipal Police Station and Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (IPPO-PDEU) arrested Tanaman after selling a sachet of suspected shabu for P2,000.

Recovered from his possession were eight more sachets of suspected shabu, cash of P111, a small brown envelope, and a mobile phone.

Delima said that the seized illegal drugs weighed around 20 grams with a standard drug price value of P136,000.

Tanaman is believed to be an underling of the Abantao Drug Group, headed by Jovan Abantao who is currently incarcerated at NBP.

He was collared after a one-month surveillance operation.

Tanaman was arrested for a drug-related offense in 2016 and was released in 2021.

Almost three hours after Tanaman’s arrest, police collared Golez in a buy-bust operation at Barangay Cabugao Norte, Pavia.

Golez, a funeral car driver, yielded around 10 grams of illegal drugs worth P68,000.

Both Tanaman and Golez are now detained and will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
