BACOLOD City – Mayor Alfredo “Albee” Benitez has designated on Monday Atty. Love Dignadice, assistant city administrator, as officer-in-charge of the said office.

Dignadice will temporarily take over the post of Atty. Pacifico Maghari III who tendered his irrevocable resignation effective November 1.

Earlier, Benitez said he would name Maghari’s replacement on November 15, 2023.

Benitez expressed his gratitude and admiration to Maghari who served as City Administrator of Bacolod City for over a year.

The mayor said that he will have to make sure first that it is not illegal to appoint, based on the banning period rule of the Commission on Elections.

Benitez said Maghari has made known his intention to resign from his post in the past two months.

The mayor further said that he respects the decision of Maghari who cited family matters as the reason for his resignation.

He also pointed out that a meticulous consideration process is underway for the selection of a new city administrator.

“With a shortlist of candidates being thoroughly evaluated, this is a very important position,” Benitez stressed.

He said, “The city administrator must have the complete trust and confidence of the mayor, and must be somebody who can work day and night.”
