BACOLOD City – A former construction worker was busted with 30 grams of suspected shabu worth P108,000 in Barangay 4, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental yesterday.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) – 6 identified the subject as Juvy Gutierrez, 44, of the said village.

Investigation Agent (IA) 1 Alvin Clemente, team leader of PDEA-6 Regional Special Enforcement Team (RSET) Bravo, said that the operation was launched after they received a report through the Isumbong Mo sa PDEA (IMSP) hotline.

It took them two weeks to monitor Gutierrez, he added.

Also confiscated during the bust were a pouch and the P500 marked money.

Clemente said Gutierrez is one of the alleged top drug personalities of the local police in Himamaylan City.

The suspect was arrested for alleged illegal drug trading in 2015 but was later released after the case was dismissed.

In October 2023, Gutierrez was also arrested for illegal gambling but he was released on bail, Clemente said.
