Satellite office built in Iloilo town serves as additional venue for LTO transactions

The ongoing construction of a satellite building in San Miguel, Iloilo is expected to provide an additional and nearer facility, especially for officials and employees of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and motorists and vehicle owners from Iloilo 2nd Congressional District in doing business with the agency.

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Iloilo 4th District Engineering is currently constructing a multi-purpose building in San Miguel, Iloilo that will house LTO employees as they perform their tasks and responsibilities in serving the public.

The Php 4.95-million project includes the construction of a 216-square meter, 1-storey building, with necessary amenities, that will provide convenience among its occupants and visitors.

Citing from the report of District Engineer Mario G. Soriano, DPWH 6 OIC-Regional Director Sanny Boy O. Oropel said the structure will provide a conducive working environment among LTO employees, as well as a convenient avenue of providing quality service to the people.

“This facility will serve as an LTO satellite office providing the employees with a more conducive working environment which will eventually boost their morale and increase their productivity and efficiency as government workers,” OIC-RD Sanny Boy O. Oropel said.

“This will likewise serve as an avenue where the people of Iloilo 2nd Congressional District can easily access LTO services, without flocking the LTO Regional Office in Iloilo City, which could eventually help in decongesting traffic in the city,” RD Oropel added

Meanwhile, District Engineer Mario G. Soriano said the construction of this building is necessary to cater to the increasing number of clients doing business with LTO.

“When completed, this new building will cater to the increasing number of stakeholders and clients from San Miguel and its neighboring towns, without the need to go to the city or other satellite offices. This will lead to faster and more convenient processing of their motor vehicle registration and other LTO-related transactions,” DE Mario G. Soriano said.

“The construction of this structure is realized through a strong partnership of DPWH and LTO with the goal of providing quality infrastructure facilities and services that will improve the life of the people,” DE Soriano added.

Other than roads, bridges, and flood control structures, DPWH is committed to providing quality buildings that will offer comfort to the general public and a conducive venue where occupants can effectively and efficiently perform good public service. (DPWH-6)
