Leading the Police Regional Office (PRO) 6’s anti-drugs unit has catapulted Captain Glenn Soliman to national recognition.

Soliman, chief of Regional Police Drug Unit (RPDEU) 6, was bestowed the Medalya ng Kadakilaan during the 33rd PNP Foundation Day celebration held at the PNP national headquarters at Camp Crame, Quezon City on Jan. 29.

PNP Chief General Benjamin Acorda Jr., Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, and Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin C. Abalos Jr. gave the award to Soliman and several other PNP personnel who made significant accomplishments.

As mentioned during the ceremony, Soliman was recognized for leading the RPDEU-6 in the successful anti-illegal drug operation conducted at Barangay Don Lutero East, Janiuay, Iloilo, on Dec. 17, 2023.

The operation led to the apprehension of a 29-year-old woman and the seizure of P43.3 million worth of shabu.

In a statement, PRO-6 said that it “takes pride in its continuous efforts and high-impact outputs in combatting illegal drugs in the region.”

Brigadier General Sidney Villaflor, Western Visayas police chief, said the recognition should serve as a motivation for other units and personnel to perform for the greater good of the public.

Meanwhile, Acorda said that the celebration is about the unwavering dedication of the PNP personnel.

The occasion is also a way to celebrate the legacy of service, sacrifice and dedication of all the personnel, as well as to pay tribute to the fallen and unsung heroes and extend sympathies to their families.

Acorda said that it’s also about paying homage to the resilience, dedication and indomitable spirit that defines their noble calling.
