Officials and employees of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Iloilo will soon have a conducive, state-of-the art facility with the new building to be built by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
DPWH 6 Regional Director Sanny Boy O. Oropel, along with BOC officials and heads of Local Government Units recently held a groundbreaking for the construction of a new BOC building at the compound of Philippine Port Authority (PPA) Port of Iloilo in Lapaz, Iloilo City.
The ₱98.5-million facility involves construction of 3-storey reinforced concrete building with roof deck that will house the officials and employees of BOC and will serve as conducive venue for various public transactions.
The project includes provision of curtain walls, automatic fire sprinkler system, water pumping system, ventilation and air conditioning. The building will house the offices of BOC Port of Iloilo officials and employees, and includes provision of conference rooms.
“This new building will provide of fellow public servants from the BOC and will inspire them and to provide an even more effective and efficient public service to the community,” RD Sanny Boy O. Oropel said.
“This will likewise serve as an avenue for stakeholders and the general public, providing them a better place where they can conveniently do transactions with the BOC. With this structure, we are hoping that government services than be easily and efficiently delivered to the people,” RD Oropel added.
Other than building roads, bridges and flood control projects, DPWH is committed to provide quality infrastructure projects such as school buildings that will help improve the lives of the Filipino people in the pursuit of national development objectives. (DPWH)
