Western Visayas’ 6th most wanted person apprehended

BACOLOD City – A 50-year-old man, identified as the sixth most wanted person (MWP) in Western Visayas, was apprehended in Isabela, Negros Occidental last Wednesday.

The police have not disclosed the suspect’s name, who is a resident of Barangay Cabcab.

Police Captain Ar-jay Dangarang, the town’s police chief, stated that the suspect faces three counts of qualified statutory rape.

The suspect’s arrest warrant, which recommends no bail, was issued by the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 63 in La Carlota City on February 6, 2024.

However, Dangarang is not privy to the details of the case.

In a related development, a separate arrest warrant was served on a 19-year-old male for three counts of rape.

Dangarang reported that the young man, considered the fourth MWP in the region, was also served with a no-bail arrest warrant last Wednesday.

Earlier this month, the same teenager was detained and served with an arrest warrant for violation of Republic Act 9995, which pertains to Section 4(A) and Section 4(D) of the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009, Dangarang noted.
