Truck driver arrested for alleged shabu sale in Passi City

In the early hours of February 22, a truck driver was apprehended for his alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade in Passi City, Iloilo.

Adam Bryan Palomaria, 38, hailing from Barangay Braulan, San Enrique, Iloilo, was detained during a sting operation executed by members of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office – Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (IPPO-PDEU) and the Passi City Police Office at Barangay Punong, Passi City.

The suspect was caught selling a sachet of what is believed to be shabu, with an exchange of P10,000 initiating the arrest. A subsequent search resulted in the discovery of an additional 17 sachets of suspected shabu, along with a sling bag, a mobile phone, and a pouch in his possession.

Lieutenant Colonel Benjo Clarite, chief of the Passi City Police, reported that the confiscated substances have an estimated total weight of 130 grams and are valued at a standard drug price of P884,000.

Following tips about Palomaria’s alleged drug activities, the authorities carried out a series of validations. To date, police records have revealed no prior drug-related arrests for Palomaria.

The origin of Palomaria’s drug supply remains undetermined.

Palomaria is currently being held in custody and faces charges under the Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
